wrestling with sermons

Read an article in todays age about a group in America who visit different churchs and deliver a sermon via wrestling!! how cool! acording to the article- they have a 'fight' then relate what happened in their sermon. Thats great- was already trying to work out how to convice Roger it'd be great but read their only in America- at the moment anyway! but thats such a different/ interesting way to deliver a message- that and a bunch of grown men in full lycra suits!!:) Whats not to like!!

Jury Duty

Well I'm now on a case for the next week and I'm not allowed to talk about it at all- all I have to say is that some disgusting crap goes on literally in our back yard that we never know about. court is totally 'the facts' which I is how it should be- so I have to wait to get home before getting emotional and having a cry!

And the point of marriage is?

Looking through the local paper today was mildly surprised (although I don't know why) to see in the 'talking friends' section, at least 8 ad's that went something like this-
'Married man seeks female for daytime fun, is prepared to travel'
As much as i'm impressed that their so honest and won't just lead some chick on only to find out he's already married, this just really show's how accepting we've become as a society that these kind of ad's are even allowed to be printed. 50 years ago there is no way that would have been allowed. Also interesting that there wasn't any married female seeks man- that will take another 50 yrs and be my generation.

Weaknesses

2 things I learnt about myself today-

1. I can't walk past a cd/music shop with money in my pocket and not buy a ton of stuff- want to buy a ton more than a ton of stuff and take at least an hour to decide which ton of stuff to buy, but also feel I'm ditching a best friend by having to choose!
- Man, I've been so good lately only buying what I need and can justify and with not working much and trying to save for a few diff things I could survive on radio- but no, when it comes to music I'm weak!

2. I have been conditioned so that whenever I drive over the reminants of a dead animal on the road I've developed a shuddering kind of twitch. I'm now at the point were I can see it coming but still I twitch!
Have many other weaknesses like potato chips and strawberries but I now have 2 more to the ever increasing list!

A prayer for the world

Lord we pray this day mindful of the sorry confusion of our world. Look with mercy upon this generation of your children so steeped in misery of their own contriving, so far strayed from your ways and so blinded by passions. We pray for the victims of tyranny, that they may resist oppression with courage. We pray for wicked and cruel men, whose arrogance reveals to us what the sin within our own hearts is like when it has conceived and brought forth its final fruit.

We pray for ourselves who live in peace and quietness, that we may not regard our good fortune as proof of our virtue, or rest content to have our ease at the price of other men’s sorrow and tribulation.

We pray for all who have some vision of your will, despite the confusions and betrayals of human sin, that they humbly and resolutely plan for and fashion the foundations of a just peace between men, even while they seek to preserve what is fair and just among us against the threat of malignant powers.
