Xin Chaio from Vietnam

Hi From the post office of a small village in the middle of vietnam!

The internet is quite slow so won't write much other than having a great time.

so much to talk about- today was great, got some building done, laying bricks and carrying a lot of building equipment, then visited the local primary school and did the hokey pokey and they sang us some songs, then played a massive game of soccer with all the locals!

We're staying at a Buddist temple which is very comfortable, mats on the floor for sleeping and mostly squat toilets, but the foods been great- lots of rice and noodles and the Nuns do everything for us!

We're treated like celebrities- everyone watches us and wants to talk and the kids all come over and hang out- so great to develop friendships with the locals!

might write again soon!

Well Mim nice to hear you're having a great time. Obviously the culture shock isn't as harsh as what it could be, unless of course comfortable is a euphemism for "not five star, but better than could be expected".

Probably won't get answers to any questions till you get back. That's fine.

I guess those indoor soccer games came in handy. Do the locals play pretty well the same as here? Or was it more a chaotic game of kick to kick with no goal scoring involved?

Have you had a chance to experience buddhist worship? Any snippets of your experiences.

Anyway better leave you to it. Like I said don't expect answers. You may not read this comment till you get back anyway. Better let you get back and make the most of this awesome experience.

Have fun, and watch Steph doesn't get run over by "crazy" cars.
